With the year drawing to a close, it's officially the holiday season and also the time when calories don't count for this year. And with that thought in mind here are seven female-run bakeries in the Delhi-NCR that you should order your holiday goodies from this year.

Bakehouse Comfort, Gunjan Batra

Realising her passion for baking during the lockdown, Gunjan decided to give it a shot full time. Right from sourdough, croissants, bread baskets, vegan breads to cookies, brownies with Baileys, biscoff cheesecakes, and pastries, Bakehouse has them all with fresh delicacies being baked everyday. The recipes here are traditional ones with a contemporary twist.

What to look out for this holiday season? Their almond croissant is a highlight. Choose between Belgium truffle cake or the Chocolate Caramel Walnut. And if you're counting calories, opt for the whole wheat jaggery cake.

Miam Patisserie, Bani Nanda

Its the season for strawberries

Chef Bani has cooked up a storm on the internet with other-wordly cakes and her secret insights on crockery and presentation. Chef Bani's love affair with patisseries goes back to when she first experienced a taste of her mother's delectable home made cakes. And Miam's journey began in 2015 with an aim to to popularise a neoclassical style of presentation but at the same keeping the spirit of classic, year old recipes alive.

What to look out for this holiday season? While everyone is big on plum cakes during this season, Chef Bani goes the opposite way - with a very loyal customer base to appreciate the same - and makes an Anti-plum cake along with warm winter flavours for the season.

L'Opéra, Christine Samandari

Hampers with goodies by L'Opera

With an extensive travel history Christine comes with great culinary knowledge and it is this flavour palette that lends L'Opera the edge. It is her inquisitive nature, her love to engage in new experiences, urge to create something lasting and her desire to promote the French (culinary) culture in India led to the opening of L'Opera.
