Türkiye Celebrates Its 100th National Day With Much Pomp In Delhi

The Republic of Türkiye turned a milestone recently with its centenary celebration. The 100th anniversary of the country's national day saw a grand celebration at the Ambassador's residence in New Delhi recently. A number of dignitaries from the world of politics, business, tourism, art and culture were in attendance at the event.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Fırat Sunel hosted the reception at his residence in New Delhi with eminent guests, including Indian authorities, Indian friends, Turkish citizens, as well as ambassadors and diplomats. To celebrate the rich history of Türkiye and honour its legacy, the event saw Turkish classical music performances by Turkish musicians, especially visiting India for the Republic's 100th-year celebration.

The evening saw agathering of eminent guests from around the world

Food is an inherent part of any culture, and the signature Turkish fare served at the event reflected the nation's rich heritage. From delectable kebabs and döner to Turkish mezzes and olive oil, the range of dishes offered something for everyone. For desserts, there was baklava cooked and prepared by Turkish chefs who had travelled from Türkiye and Turkish ice cream.

The celebratory fervour was enhanced as the evening progressed with various lucky draws being arranged that included light tickets and vacation vouchers in popular tourist places in Türkiye, taking the excitement quotient of the guests a few notches higher.

The Ambassador alongside Mrs. Yonca Sunel, personally greeted all the guests at the event. Talking about the event, he said, "As we celebrated our 100th National Day, it was an honour to host esteemed diplomats from India, Türkiye, and other friend nations of Türkiye. The massive turnout at this event not only represents Türkiye's resounding success as a nation but also its growing popularity amongst Indians and other countries that joined us in this memorable celebration. The success of this event also yet again showcased the exemplary bond that India and Türkiye enjoy with each other."
