To boost tourism, Telangana plans to introduce a 1,000-acre zoological park. The state is rolling out three new policies focused on temple tourism, eco-tourism, and health tourism. These initiatives were announced by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

The new policies aim to enhance Telangana’s historic temples, forest areas, and health services while attracting international tourists. The government is looking at successful tourism models from other destinations to stay competitive globally. To support these efforts, transport, accommodation, and other amenities will be improved.

The CM also proposed exploring safari options in the Kawal and Amrabad forests and building cottages at key tourist locations to encourage overnight stays, providing a deeper experience of the state’s natural beauty.

A key highlight is the development of a 1,000-acre zoological park near Hyderabad, which will house animals and birds from different regions. The CM suggested collaborating with industrialists, using Anant Ambani’s Vantara animal shelter in Jamnagar as a model for the zoo’s development.

Additionally, 200 acres in Anantagiri will be dedicated to health tourism, with plans for a nature wellness center inspired by Bengaluru's Jindal Naturecure Institute. Health tourism will also be promoted in Mucherla, aiming to position Hyderabad as a key destination for medical tourism.

The policies will offer incentives to investors in the tourism sector, and the government will make health services information easily accessible online for international visitors to connect with medical professionals directly.
