Mumbai Hotel Prices Soar Ahead Of Coldplay India Tour 2025

Coldplay’s highly anticipated "Music of the Spheres" tour in Mumbai, set for January 2025, has sparked a frenzy for tickets and accommodations

If you thought getting a ticket for Coldplay’s "Music of the Spheres" world tour in Mumbai was hard, finding a place to stay during the concert weekend might be even more challenging.

Coldplay is performing at DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, and the rush to get both tickets and accommodations is intense. As fans from all over are coming to Mumbai for these shows, hotel prices near the stadium have gone through the roof, with some places charging up to 300 per cent more than usual. So, if you plan to go, be ready for some steep costs beyond just the concert ticket.

According to reports, hotels near DY Patil Stadium, like the Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai, are already fully booked. Even if you're looking at other options in Navi Mumbai, prices have jumped significantly. A typical search for those dates shows hotels charging way more than usual rates—some as high as INR 1.42 lakh per night. And it's not just the fancy hotels—budget places are way more expensive now.

The surge in hotel prices isn’t unexpected, given the influx of fans travelling from across India and abroad. With the increased demand, hotels are capitalising on the opportunity, raising rates significantly. For many concert-goers, the accommodation cost may surpass the price of their concert tickets.

And it's not just hotels that are more expensive—flights to Mumbai during the concert dates have also gotten pricier. Reports suggest that airfares have increased by 60-80 per cent, a huge jump compared to the 20-30 per cent increase during Coldplay's 2016 show in India.

Ahead of the tour, the British band also confirmed that they plan to stop recording new music after their 12th album. However, they will continue performing on tours.
