OT Staff

In a move to enhance its appeal as a tourist destination, Madhya Pradesh announced plans to develop over 50 offbeat destinations across the state. This initiative, revealed by Principal Secretary for Tourism and Culture, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, aims to cater to tourists seeking experiences away from crowded places. The announcement was made during the 39th Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) convention in Bhopal, where future possibilities in tourism were discussed.

Shri Shukla emphasised the state's commitment to creating a sustainable tourism ecosystem, focusing on lesser-known destinations that offer tranquillity and unique experiences. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to manage the influx of tourists at popular spots while promoting new areas. Additionally, more than 40,000 women are being trained in various roles within the tourism sector to boost employment and empower local communities.
