Research conducted by the agency Bounce revealed that among tourists, India is the second favourite destination for a vacation. While Maldives grabbed the first spot, Singapore came in third.
The data, which was collected over the course of one year, showed that Maldives appeared 2,457,000 times on Google search, with India coming in second with 1,478,300 total searches. At the same time, Singapore appeared 1,224,500 times on Google search, rounding off the top three positions.
The Maldives, with its crystal clear waters and serene vibes, offers an ideal choice for honeymooners and couples looking to have a private getaway. With your Instagram feed filled with people vacationing on the sandy shores of the island with the lapping azure waves, it’s natural that you will feel the travel bug bite. The Maldives, no doubt, is a top-tier vacation spot.
With so much history and cultural marvels spread throughout the country, India’s coveted second spot is much deserved. With a plethora of heritage sights and opulent palaces such as the ones in Delhi and Jaipur, and, of course, the tranquil beaches of the south and the magical beauty of the hills up north, India is a great place for cultural exploration and immersive travel.
Singapore, with its luxury accommodations and futuristic attractions, snags third place. The other contenders that completed the top ten are Costa Rica, which appeared in 1,067,300 searches, Mexico with 1,059,000 searches, Japan with 1,051,200 searches, and Jamaica with 1,021,900 searches. Greece, The Bahamas, and Australia rounded off the list.
