Mumbai's vibrant cultural scene is set to welcome a new highlight this November 2025 with the launch of India Art Fair Contemporary. Announced by the India Art Fair organisers, this event will showcase the best contemporary art and design, bringing together leading artists from India, South Asia, and beyond. Scheduled to take place from November 13 to 16, 2025, at Jio World Garden, the fair promises a carefully curated selection of 50 to 70 exhibitors, including galleries, design studios, and institutions from across the globe.

Building on the success of the India Art Fair in Delhi, which has been instrumental in shaping South Asia's art scene since 2008, the Mumbai edition aims to further deepen engagement with the city's flourishing cultural landscape. The new platform will present cutting-edge contemporary works and champion Mumbai's creativity, offering a fresh space for art enthusiasts and collectors to explore new ideas and practices.

This initiative, led by India Art Fair Director Jaya Asokan, marks a significant moment for the city's growing arts ecosystem. "We are thrilled to bring a fresh contemporary art and design fair to Mumbai, home to many of our long-term exhibitors, partners, patrons, and visitors," said Asokan. "The appetite for art in India has grown significantly, and this is the perfect time to launch a bold new fair focusing on the contemporary moment."

The event will feature a cross-disciplinary approach, with booths blending art and design to encourage collaboration and innovation. Special attention will be given to artists and designers from South Asia, Africa, and South America, highlighting Mumbai's significance as a cultural hub.

The inaugural edition promises to strengthen Mumbai's global standing in art. Participating local and international galleries will participate, and programming will connect the city's rich artistic heritage with modern creative practices. Applications for exhibitors will open later this year.

Meanwhile, the India Art Fair Delhi will return for its 16th edition in February 2025, continuing its role as a leading platform for contemporary and modern South Asian art.
