In an exciting development for North Gujarat, the Dharoi Dam area is transformed into a top-notch sustainable tourism destination. The state government is launching several projects to make Dharoi Dam a central hub for tourism, connecting it with famous nearby sites like Vadnagar, Taranga, Ambaji, and Rani Ki Vav—all within 90 kilometres.

According to reports, the project will unfold in three phases, with an estimated budget of INR 1,100 crore. The plan includes creating an Adventure Water Sports Arena, a River Edge Development area with a Leisure Show Infrastructure and Amphitheatre, various themed parks such as Panchatatva Park and Naad Brahm Upavan, and amenities like a Visitor Centre and Water Experience Park.

The project is expected to be completed within two years, with 80 per cent of the land already acquired. A Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model is being considered to speed up development. Tourists eagerly anticipate the new attractions, drawing comparisons to the famous Statue of Unity.

Located on the Sabarmati River, the dam plays a crucial role in irrigation and water supply and offers a picturesque setting perfect for tourism development. The region is known for its landscapes, abundant wildlife, and cultural significance, making it an ideal destination for adventure seekers and those looking to explore the area's history and traditions.

One of the standout features of the Dharoi Dam project is the emphasis on sustainability. The development plan includes eco-friendly initiatives like rainwater harvesting and solar power generation, aiming to minimise the environmental impact. The Adventure Water Sports Arena is designed to offer a variety of activities like jet skiing, kayaking, and parasailing, catering to thrill-seekers. Meanwhile, the River Edge Development will provide a more relaxed experience, with landscaped gardens, walking trails, and an amphitheatre for cultural performances.

Parks like Panchatatva Park and Naad Brahm Upavan will offer unique experiences based on the elements and sound, providing educational and recreational value. The Visitor Centre will serve as a hub of information and orientation, ensuring tourists have a memorable and informative visit.
