The Pragati Maidan Complex, with its vast campus area of around 123 acres, has been recently renovated by the ITPO and is set to host India&rsquos G20 Leaders meetings. As India&rsquos largest MICE destination, the complex resembles other venues like the Hannover Exhibition Centre in Germany and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai.
The complex is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 26.
What&rsquos Inside
The Pragati Maidan complex boasts a magnificent convention centre designed to be the area&rsquos focal point. This impressive architectural structure is ideal for hosting large international exhibitions, trade fairs, conventions, conferences, and other prestigious events. The centre has multiple meeting rooms, lounges, auditoriums, an amphitheatre, and a business centre, making it the perfect location for a wide range of events. The multi-purpose and plenary halls combined can hold up to seven thousand people, with an even larger seating capacity than Australia&rsquos famous Sydney Opera House. With this new world-class facility, Delhi will establish itself as a global hub for hosting grand events, which has long been overdue for the national capital.
Inspiration Behind Architecture
The convention centre&rsquos architectural design draws inspiration from Indian traditions. Its unique shape is derived from the Shankha, or conch shell. The walls and facades of the building feature elements of India&rsquos traditional art and culture, such as &ldquoSurya Shakti,&rdquo highlighting India&rsquos use of solar energy, and &ldquoZero to ISRO,&rdquo celebrating the country&rsquos achievements in space exploration. Additionally, the building incorporates the Pancha Mahabhuta, representing the five elements of the universe, Aakash (Sky), Vayu (Air), Agni (Fire), Jal (Water), Prithvi (Earth).
Upcoming India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), Dwarka

According to sources, the project is expected to be finished within three months. This complex will have an indoor area of 3 lakh sqm, making it India&rsquos largest convention and exhibition complex. It is situated approximately 10 km away from the Delhi international airport and is surrounded by a sports complex, diplomatic residences, a golf course, and the airport city hotel.
