Starting January 1, 2025, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department is introducing an entry fee at popular beaches across the state to enhance facilities, ensure cleanliness, and support sustainable development. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know about this initiative and how it might change your beach experience in Andhra Pradesh.
According to reports, the primary goal of this fee is to maintain and enhance the beaches of Andhra Pradesh. The revenue collected will fund cleanliness efforts, infrastructure improvements, and tourism facilities, ensuring these areas are well-kept and sustainably developed for future generations.
The entry fee will range between INR 15 to INR 20 per person. Although small, this fee is part of a larger strategy by the AP government to invest in tourism while minimising environmental impact.
Visitors to some of Andhra Pradesh’s most popular beaches must pay this entry fee. These beaches include:
Maipadu Beach
Kakinada Beach
Ramayapatnam Beach
Rushikonda Beach
Suryalanka Beach
These spots are known for their natural beauty and attract many tourists yearly, making them ideal for implementing these improvements.
Cleanliness: A portion of the funds will keep the beaches clean. Regular cleaning and maintenance will help protect the beaches’ natural beauty and appeal, providing visitors with a cleaner, more welcoming environment.
Infrastructure And Amenities: The rest of the revenue will support the development of essential infrastructure. Plans include upgrading roads, adding better amenities like restrooms, and creating visitor-friendly facilities. The government also intends to partner with private entities to build resorts and recreational areas, further boosting tourism.
By charging a small entry fee, the AP Tourism Department hopes to continue enhancing these coastal destinations, making them more inviting and memorable for everyone who visits. This move highlights Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism, ensuring that future generations can enjoy these beautiful beaches, too.
