The coastal state of Goa recently participated in the World Travel Market (WTM) in UK's London from November 6 to 8. The objective was to showcase Goa as a year-round tourism destination and promote it beyond its beaches, focusing on facets like Eco-Tourism, Hinterland Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Sports Tourism, Festival Tourism, Cuisine, and Cultural Tourism.

The participation aimed to attract UK and European tourists to experience Goan festivities, heritage, adventure activities, and spa services. To attract more European visitors, the officials also promoted the e-tourist visa facility available at Goa International Airport in Dabolim and Manohar International Airport in Mopa, North Goa.

Goa Tourism places significant emphasis on tourist safety, providing the Goa Tourism Helpline (1364) for assistance. The beaches benefit from 676 lifeguards who patrol until midnight, ensuring a secure environment. An exclusive women's taxi service caters to women tourists' transportation needs.

Regarding beach upkeep, Goa takes pride in its beaches, which are recognised as among the best in India, Asia, and worldwide. The Comprehensive Beach Cleaning Management Plan and other initiatives maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance.
