Air India Implements 75-Minute Check-in Closure For International Flights

OT Staff

Air India has announced a change in its check-in procedures for international departures from Delhi. Effective immediately, all check-in counters will close 75 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

The airline revealed the new policy in a social media post, stating that the extended closure time aims to provide a smoother and more comfortable travel experience for passengers. "This adjustment from the previous 60-minute closure allows ample time for check-in procedures and security clearance, even during peak travel periods," Air India explained.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport well before the new check-in closure time to avoid any potential delays or inconveniences. This decision comes after the airline's August announcement introducing a 75-minute check-in cutoff for international flights departing from Delhi Airport, effective September 10, 2024.

In other news, Air India is gearing up to introduce Wi-Fi on board its flights, beginning with the A350 aircraft on the Delhi-London Heathrow route. This new feature will enhance the travel experience for passengers, offering in-flight entertainment and connectivity.

Additionally, the Tata Group-owned airline has recently expanded its fleet by introducing A350 planes. These new aircraft will replace older models on several routes, providing passengers with more seats and improved amenities.

Meanwhile, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, K Ram Mohan Naidu, launched the DigiYatra Facility at Visakhapatnam Airport on September 6. This initiative aims to streamline passenger check-in through facial biometrics, offering a contactless and efficient experience.
