On the first day of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) conference, Qatar Airways, the official airline of the State of Qatar, announced its recent expansion to over 160 destinations and emphasized its focus on growth in the Gulf region.

At a press conference led by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker and other top officials, the airline highlighted the addition of Tabouk, Saudi Arabia, as a new destination and the resumption of service to Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. Currently, the airline operates 84 weekly flights to the UAE and plans to begin services to Ras Al Khaimah.

"Our commitment to providing our passengers with world-class products and services remains unwavering as we expand our network. We are thrilled to be participating in this year's Arabian Travel Market, and we believe that with exciting events in Qatar, our country will continue to thrive as a tourism hub for years to come," said Al Baker.

Al Baker also expressed his desire for an increase in Indian tourists visiting their country. To attract more visitors, Qatar Airways is promoting the stunning beaches of the peninsular Arab country, its Formula 1 events, and its status as a safe destination for women. His announcement comes soon after Doha was designated as the Arab Tourism Capital 2023 by the Arab Tourism Organization.

Bid To Attract Tourists From All Over

Qatar Airways also highlighted its partnership with Formula 1 at the ATM, showcasing its role as the official airline of the world-renowned racing series.

As the Global Partner and Official Airline of F1, the airline, in partnership with Qatar Airways Holidays, launched travel packages that will allow fans to be up-close to the high-octane action and exclusively enjoy unique experiences and special events for each F1 racing event.

Additionally, it offered visitors at ATM an opportunity to drive its F1 simulator while providing a comfortable lounge area that exemplified its commitment to superior standards of luxury and comfort.

Qatar Tourism Takes Centerstage

Meanwhile, at the ATM, Qatar Tourism's pavilion featured an assortment of unique attractions, which included a Whale Shark activation enabling visitors to observe up-close the endangered species' beauty. An augmented reality photo booth also allowed visitors to take pictures in iconic Qatari destinations.

Moreover, an immersive room played scenic destinations across Qatar, providing visitors with a 360-degree experience of the country's attractions, where they could explore and interact with Qatar's unique tourism offerings in real-time, based on their interests.

In addition to the pavilion's attractions, Qatar Tourism had a dedicated cultural area depicting Souq Waqif, the country's most famous traditional market, where they served Arabic coffee to guests. With Expo 2023 Doha scheduled for later that year, Qatar Tourism also spotlighted this major upcoming event, with an area at ATM dedicated to the Expo.

Qatar To Host A Plethora Of Events

Qatar will be hosting the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS Qatar 2023), which is set to present a stunning festival highlighting the finest of the automotive industry. Guests will be invited to navigate the future of the automotive industry while receiving the best-in-class experiences across travel, hospitality, motorsports, and culture. Furthermore, despite having no prior history in the sport, the country announced itself on April 30 as the host of the 24-nation basketball World Cup in 2027.
