OT Staff

This year marks the 34th anniversary of the worst nuclear accident in the world, the Chernobyl Disaster. For years, the decommissioned plant and nearby ghost towns of Chernobyl and Pripyat have been accepting visitors, making it a popular spot for dark tourism. To mark this anniversary, various companies are now offering virtual tours of the area.

Chernobyl tour offers a walk through the exclusion zone and responds to queries at the end. Another interesting one is by Chernobyl Virtual tour the company takes you through the towns and sites, sure, but they do it through the lens of generations of abandoned pets and animals that are thriving in the area. It starts off with a reminder of Chernobyl&rsquos dark past, attempting to end on a light, happier note.
