It seems that Christmas this year is in fact going to be merry for Mumbai folks. After endless speculations, the Irish band U2 has finally confirmed their India tour. The legendary band will be performing in Mumbai on December 15, 2019 at the DY Patil Stadium.
The rock band with classic hits like With or Without You, One and Sunday Bloody Sunday will be performing at the D.Y Patil Stadium. This will be the last show of the &lsquoU2 The Joshua Tree Tour&rsquo which has been successfully doing the rounds for the past 32 years, since the album was released in 1987.
The four piece band comprises of lead singer Bono, lead guitarist The Edge, bass guitarist Adam Clayton and drummer Larry Mullen Jr. Confirming this news, lead singer Bono told the press that the band is quite pumped up to perform in Mumbai. The band so far has multiple grammy&rsquos to its credit, since its formation in 1976.
The Joshua Tree Tour commemorates 30 years of the band&rsquos 1987 album of the same name. With JT 2019 tour, U2 will be performing in India for the first time, in addition to Singapore, Seoul and Manila. According to reports, the band also revealed that India has always been on their bucket list but issues related to production and technical glitches have prevented them from performing in India earlier. The ticket price will range from Rs 3000 to Rs 24,000 and will go on sale from October 1 onwards here.
