Spring Has Sprung In Kashmir With A Tulip Festival

An aesthetic for the eye, a treat for the soul- the tulip festival in Srinagar is the perfect occasion to celebrate the oncoming of Spring

The heavenly Kashmir Valley is all set to wow you once more with its pristine natural beauty. The gorgeous region, surrounded by the daunting Himalayan mountain ranges, offers a visual treat for the eyes. And it only gets better with Srinagar's Tulip festival, which celebrates the oncoming of spring. Capturing the blooming of tulips throughout the region, the occasion makes for an serene sight with the entire valley immersed in an array of colours. 

The annual event takes place at the foothills of the Zabarwan Range in Srinagar at the India Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden. Set against the backdrop of the mystifying Dal Lake, the idea is&nbspto put forth the flora of the Kashmir Valley. Though previously hyacinths and daffodils were a part of the Model Floriculture Center, the festival which precedes the Tulip Festival, the focus of the event has shifted to tulips which have begun to garner major eyeballs. 

The festival which began on April 1 will continue till May 5 with the garden open every day of the week between 7am and 7.30pm.
