The Kerala government has launched a project to promote tourism. The Travancore Heritage Project will conserve and show the cultural richness and legacy of the erstwhile kingdom. In a PTI report, State Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran said that the project would &ldquomake the visit to the state capital and its surroundings a more riveting experience."
The project will aim to preserve vintage structures such as Padmanabhapuram Palace in Kanyakumari and Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple on the banks of the Pampa in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala.
In the first phase, 30 heritage structures will be illuminated to give them a higher visual appeal in the evenings. The next phase will illuminate another 20 structures and each heritage building would be maintained like a museum.
During the inaugural function held on Tuesday, Surendran said that Kerala tourism is taking a major step to present the heritage and legacy of Travancore before the world. The project seeks to provide a complete experience to the visitors.
Referred to as God&rsquos own country&mdash Kerala is well-known for its beautiful backwaters, scenic beauty, rich history and culture. Surendran stated that the tourism sector of the state is passing through a severe crisis. The latest project has been launched by the government in an effort to make the tourism sector more productive and attractive.
