It is officially that time of the year again and we can&rsquot get enough of the holiday spirit. It is almost impossible to talk about Christmas and not talk of cakes, pastries, eggnog, yule logs and so much more.

And the hunt for a perfect Christmas cake is real. Contesting their bid for this hunt this year is the Park Chennai with probably one of the most expensive Christmas cake this season. The plum cake has been topped with a 24 karat gold leaf, making it one of the most expensive indulgence for the season. The confectionary team at the hotel has geared up for this festive season with a show stopping creation made with premium ingredients, liquor and whole wheat flour.

The plum cake created by the team, under the guidance of executive chef Ashutosh Nerlekar, has been made after researching for premium ingredients, passionately testing recipes and ensuring that it&rsquos absolutely indulgent.

The ingredients for this indulgence range from across the world including New Zealand butter, Iranian pistachios, Spanish raisins, dried cranberries, Californian prunes and Turkish apricots. The fruits have been aged for over a year in the choicest liquor ranging from Remy Martin VSOP Cognac 4 years to Aberlour 16 years Single Malt Whisky and El Ron Prohibido Blended Mexican Rum that lend flavour notes of rich sweetness, tannic spice with accents of caramel and vanilla.

And that&rsquos not all, only 12 such cakes would be baked this season, making it limited edition as well. The delicacy will come packed in a custom velvet and satin box and is priced at Rs 8999, all inclusive per cake. To place an order you can call at 044 4267600 or 98844 01601.
