Afghanistan&rsquos Bamiyan Valley is famous for the two giant Buddha statues carved out of sandstone. The tallest Buddhas in the world, they were lost forever after the Taliban destroyed them.

One of them made a reappearance to mark the two-decade anniversary of the annihilation in an event called &ldquoA Night with Buddha&rdquo in the form of a 3D projection. It was a poignant event, people looked on as the projection&nbspglowed in the alcove where it used to stand.

The 3D projection marked 20 years since the statues were blown up by the Taliban in March 2001.&nbspThe event was attended by several locals, under tight security and carrying lanterns.
