Make your summer unforgettable by visiting the Dragon Boat Festival, an event wherein the athletes battle in an intense boat race.

Taking place in the 3rd or 5th Lunar month, the festival goes back to the 3rd century. This year the festival will be held on 7th June 2019. The origin of the event goes back to when Qu Yuan, an official, jumped into the water as a result of a protest against the corrupt rulers. The locals on site, jump into the water as a result of saving him. However, they weren&rsquot successful.

Today exciting festival activities recall this legendary event. During this event, people eat rice and dumplings wrapped in the leaves of bamboo plants while others enjoy their time swimming. The festival is not less than a party under the Skyline of Victoria Harbour wherein the visitors can enjoy a drink while cheering for the athletes. The festival is held in 3 places mainly Cheung Chau, Harbour at Stanley and Aberdeen.

At Cheung Chau, the festival is going to be held from 9am-12pm at Tai O Promenade Lantau Island, at Harbour at Stanley the event timings are 8 am to 6 pm and the venue of Aberdeen the timings are 830 am to 4 pm.

The fun part is that the event has free entry and all age groups are welcomed.
