Go On A Spanish Culinary Trail At The Westin Rajarhat Kolkata

OT Staff

The all-day dining den Seasonal Tastes of Westin Rajarhat Kolkata is holding a Spanish food festival to round up September. Curated by Chef Marcos Sierra Sahun, Chef de Cuisine from Arts Hotel Barcelona, Una Fiesta is not only about traditional Spanish dishes but also how history and culture has influenced the country&rsquos cuisine.

Cooking methods and ingredients that make Spanish cuisine is derived from a complex history where invasions and conquests of Spain have modified traditions which made new ingredients available, explained Chef. For his international guests, he has introduced modern cooking techniques but retained the authentic charm of Spanish cuisine.

Some of the key dishes on the menu include &lsquoAlb&oacutendigas Con Sepia&rsquo (meatballs with cuttlefish in almond sauce), &lsquoPollo Al Chilindr&oacuten&rsquo (chicken stewed with bell peppers), &lsquoPatatas Bravas&rsquo (confit potatoes with alioli and spicy sauce), &lsquoGambas Al Ajillo&rsquo (spicy garlic shrimps), and &lsquoPil Pil Hake Cocochas&rsquo (suckling lamb, with Parmesan and dates). From traditional paella to pintxos (a snack from northern Spain) to Iberian pork (Iberian Pork braised and glazed, in cream of roasted apples, spinach and lemon thyme bread crumbs), chef has tried to cover the country as far as possible.

Buffet meals come with traditional sangrias and tapas to complete the experience.
