Did you know The chef originally hails from Malaysia

Good news for Malaysia. The world-famous Michelin star restaurant in Singapore, Liao Fan Hawker Chan, has now opened its shutters on a new outpost.

The chef of this award-winning street stall, Chef&nbspChan Hon Meng is originally from Ipoh, Malaysia. During his training at a Hong Kong restaurant, he learnt the recipe for the soya sauce chicken recipe that won him the Michelin. Since then, he partnered with Hersing Culinary to open 12 franchised branches in 6 countries including Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Kazakhstan, even Australia. Now it&rsquos time for him to take the chain to his home country.

The grand opening of Liao Fan Hawker Chan on March 16 in Malaysia was his return with the now award-winning dish and several others. This is a self-service restaurant that has also attracted a large crowd already. If its soft launch earlier in January was any indicator of the restaurant&rsquos fate back here in Malaysia, we think the store is going to do well.
