Indian Travellers have to Undergo 21 Day Quarantine Period in Singapore

On Tuesday, the Singapore Ministry of Health announced that people arriving from India will have to undergo an additional seven days home quarantine, apart from the mandatory 14 days, at their place of residence or a designated facility due to the rise in the cases and new virus strains in the country.

The order includes travellers, Singaporeans and residents - they will need to take a Covid-19 RT-PCR test upon arrival in Singapore.

The decree will be enforced from tomorrow as part of stricter border measures to manage the risk of imported strain from India.

Those who are currently in their 14-day stay home period and those by that time will also have to serve the Stay-Home Notice.

The travellers will be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival at the end of the initial 14-day stay home and at the end of the additional seven days.

Migrant workers from the construction, marine, and process sectors and travelling from India will be subjected to a 21-day stay-home notice. The Notice period for travellers from Hong Kong will be condensed from 14 days to 7 days.

The MOH stated that these measures will minimise importation risks and protect public health.
