While the NCR is known for its rich history and culture, it is in need of cultural spaces and museums that aim to revisit our rich heritage. And art enthusiasts and patrons couldn&rsquot agree more. Being one of the most concentrated urban clusters in India, the NCR with more of such spaces can potentially become a platform for learning, opportunities and employment in the arts.
Bringing great addition to the world of arts, the best in the industry, the Serendipity Arts Foundation (along with various partners) has proposed the idea of a live museum. The Live Museum aims to fill the need for creative and interactive spaces by creating a new model for an arts and culture space, layered with local context that aims to address the region through technology, sound environmental operations, and contemporised traditional practices.
The proposed museum will be built on nearly 10 acres of sprawling, undulating land, nestled in the Aravalis amidst a keekar forest. It will house a museum, auditoria, residency spaces, incubation centre, open air theatres, lecture rooms, and labs for education, display and performances.
In order to address and develop creative solutions to problems related to setting up of a new culture centre for the arts, the Confluence Ideathon 2021 and Serendipity Arts Foundation together also launched the arts hackathon in a virtual press conference including several eminent patrons and judges from the Confluence Ideathon including Sunil Kant Munjal (Chairman, Hero Enterprise), Vinita Bali (former MD, Britannia Industries Limited), Kiran Mazumdar Shaw (Chairperson, Biocon) and Padmaja Ruparel (Co-Founder at Indian Angel Network & Founding Partner of IAN Fund).
The idea is to bring the most innovative minds in the world together to develop creative solutions for a proposed world class arts facility in the National Capital Region. The proposed ideas from the week will explore challenges of building a multi-purpose urban culture centre aimed at addressing the needs of tomorrow. With the advent of technology and its entry into the art and culture space, the ideathon aims to explore answers to questions that impact visitor experiences as well as resource use.
The Ideathon also seeks to address the various elements that must be put into practice for this space&ndashaccessibility, inclusion, sustainability, and enjoyment in experiencing the arts.
The foundation has called for applications beginning January 13, 2021 and will be accepting the same till January 28, 2021. Application ideas will be reviewed through three rounds of successive deliberation by the jury throughout January and February 2021.
The deliberations will lead into the Ideathon Week, which is slated for February 23 &ndash March 4, 2021.
Throughout Ideathon Week, shortlisted ideas from each category will be presented to the jury before the winners are declared in the first week of March.
