Trains still remain the most popular form of travel in India due mainly to the fact that they make long distance travel affordable. What can be an issue, however, is having your ticket stuck in a long waiting list, and then cancelled at the last minute.

A Mumbai-based app has come up with a solution for your waitlist woes.

Railofy is an app that tracks your ticket on a waiting list till the last minute. If it isn&rsquot confirmed, the app offers you a flight ticket instead, that too at a similar price. It's fairly new (launched in January this year), yet already about a hundred passengers have completed their journey through Railofy.

Railofy operates on all railway lines and across all classes through its Waitlist and RAC Protection Service to ensure that your trip doesn&rsquot get cancelled at the last moment.

Here's how it works. You have to register on the app and enter the PNR number of your ticket to avail of the service for a fee which starts from Rs 50 (it varies according to the journey). The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store, for free. The service has also been availed by migrant labourers looking to return to their hometown.&nbspIt will soon be available pan India.

Railofy also comes with bus facilities if you are looking for short distance travel options.
