Recently, social media has been abuzz with news of panthers being spotted on Udaipur streets. The video was taken from a moving car which was driving down from the banks of Lake Pichola to Deendayal Upadhyay Park at Dudh Talai. The group of panthers were not too bothered by the attention, as they walked on the path.

They were seen going into the grounds of Deendayal Upadhyay Park after sending their cubs to a safety zone.

In Udaipur, animals such as panthers have been out and about around, or close to, residential areas ever since the pandemic banned the entry of tourists.

Among the places that have been favoured by panthers is the Machla Magra district that houses the Karni Mata Temple, the Ropeway and the City Palace.
