Renowned author W.B.Yeats once said, "Education is the lighting of a fire, not the filling of a bucket".
Neev is back with its 2nd edition of the &lsquoNeev Literature Festival&rsquo for children this September. The 3-day event will be held in Bengaluru on the 27th, 28th and 29th September 2018 and aspires to create readers for life.
Workshops and panel discussions for students, educators, librarians and parents, and a curated book exhibit of must-read titles are some of the highlights of the festival. More than 65 celebrated International and Indian authors, film makers, illustrators and librarians will congregate at the Neev Literature Festival. Renowned authors such as Nadia Hashimi, Paro Anand, Ranjit Lal, Shals Mahajan, Sampurna Chattarji, Jahnavi Barua, Neha Singh, Adan Jimenez & Felicia Low Jimenez, among others will be part of the festival to meet and interact with the children.
The year the Neev Book Awards will also be unveiled. The awards will recognize phenomenal children's literature that leads to a fuller understanding of India, Indian lives, and stories.
Curiosity and creativity is what will drive children to build their own knowledge and relate it to this world. To make these relations, a basic need is to be well-read. Children access information in present times in more ways than ever before. Text takes many forms &ndash traditional textbooks and novels and as blogs and videos. Children need to be strong readers in order to comprehend the importance of a particular text and its medium along with its implication to the rest of the world, and that is what the festival is trying to promote.
Neev Literature Festival comes to Bangalore to create conversations between writers, readers ad influencers, and expose people to new stories.
