National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) has been the cultural epicentre of Mumbai for almost half a century now. The Piramal Art gallery housed inside the NCPA has dedicated itself to promoting photography and has been celebrating the works of renowned photographers by organizing several events throughout the year. But World Photography Day happens to be that time of the year that holds a special place in the hearts of camera addicts.

To commemorate the 80th world photography day, NCPA&rsquos Piramal Art Gallery is holding an exhibition on August 17th, 2019 between 12 PM to 8 PM. The exhibition will have nearly 150 books on display documenting the works of celebrated photographers like Ansel Adams, Henry Cartier Bresson, Yousuf Karsh, Robert Capa and even Indian photographers like Raghubir Singh, Raghu Rai, Kishor Parekh, Neemai Ghosh, Ashok Dilwali to name a few. Publications by World Press Photo and Time Life Series will also be on display.

There will also be a photo talk by well known photographer Swapnil Mukherjee at 2 PM and eminent wildlife photographer and ex-president of the Photographic Society of India Avanish Mukherjee at 4 PM. This will be followed by a tribute to late legendary photographers Mr. Kishore Parekh (author of Bangladesh A Brutal Cry) and Mr. Gopal Buddhe (known for his 20 feet long panorama of Queen&rsquos Necklace).
