Pack your bags, keep the safety measures in mind and get ready to explore the mysterious Chom Ong Caves of Laos. This new addition to your bucket list is located in the province of Oudomxay and is 16km long. The caves are 48km away from the centre of Xay in the north.
The development of facilities along the cave is exceptional. Travellers will need to drive down a 40km road connecting the capital to the cave, providing parking services, exhibitions, public washrooms and electricity to light up the interiors.
While exploring the caves, one can take part in treks, swim in nearby waterholes and groove to the beats of traditional and cultural dances by the Khmus. The Asian Development Bank has funded the entire road construction and now this destination is accessible by air and road.
