Know Who Gave An Outstanding Performance At This Year's National Tourism Awards

The yearly National Tourism Awards, a Ministry of Tourism, Government of India undertaking, was held on September 27, 2018, where the best from the travel and tourism industry were awarded for their outstanding performance and services. Keeping the growth and promotion of tourism in the country in mind, the awards are presented to State Governments and Union Territories, classifies as well as heritage hotels, travel agents, tour operators, tourist transport operators, private organisations and basically whoever has done remarkable works to promote healthy tourism in the country. For this a special Committee is set up to make the selection and then the Ministry of Tourism decides.

It is considered to be one of the highest honors in the field and this year The Ashok, New Delhi, bagged not one but two awards--Best Hotel Based Meeting Venue (for the third time in a row) and Hotel Providing Best Facilities For Differently Abled Guests (for the first time). The Ashok is a flagship property of India Tourism Development Corporation.
