This New Year Paddle Your Way Through The Backwaters

Get excited, Kayaks Begin your New Year paddling your way through the beautiful backwaters of Kerala with the Muziris Paddle Expedition.

God&rsquos own country is all set to give you the experience of its mesmerising nature and rich heritage that dates from the 1st century BC. Kayak for two days exploring the oldest spice route in Kerala and witness the splendid backwaters of the state. Organized by the Jellyfish Water Sports in partnership with Muziris Heritage Project the two day kayaking event will start at the Kotturpuram Jetty in Kodungalloor on 5th January and end at the Bolgatty Island in Kochi on 6th covering a distance of about 40km.

Not a swimmer Not an issue. Tourists, children, paddling enthusiasts and even non swimmers are welcome to participate in the expedition. Everyone will be taught the skill of kayaking by trained experts and river guides. The event aims to create a connection to river with the youngsters and tourists. Muziris was once a glorified seaport which connected southern India with the rest of the world for the trade of spices. While kayaking, the participants can witness several monuments of an era which is more than 3000 years old. The kayakers will cover a distance of 20km on the first day with essential breaks for sightseeing, experiencing the local culture and food along with night camping.

Promoting the usage of rivers for recreational use and conserving them to maintain their natural beauty, the event will be totally managed by Jellyfish Water Sports. Get ready for the jaw dropping views along the backwaters.
