Otherwise known for its culture, colour and delightful conundrum, Jaipur is now all set to get a new stargazing observatory. Ranking in category 5 on a scale of 9 according to Bortle Scale (that measures the darkness of the night sky), the pink city is ideal for an unmatched stargazing experience.
Jaipur has various locations, both within the city limits and on the outskirts for a clear view of the night sky. And bringing this one of a kind experience to Jaipur is Starscapes, a platform for astronomy experiences.
Starscapes, also India's first and only chain of observatories, will first set up a mobile stargazing observatory opposite Amity International on National Highway 11. This will be followed by a permanent setup later.
The newly launched mobile observatory is surrounded by nature farms, coupled with minimum light pollution and optimally dark skies. This mobile observatory is an insight into the potential of a full setup. The observatory will host a holistic astronomical experience, with activities &mdash such as stargazing safaris, astrophotography, sun observation etc &mdash available during the day as well as night. Here, a trained astronomy expert will also be available to guide enthusiasts on the journey.
The permanent setup will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for observations, astrophotography as well as research projects. Starscapes also plans to engage patrons in sessions such as sun observation, star parties as well as selfie with the stars.
The mobile observatory is also easily accessible from Jaipur&rsquos key tourist attractions such as Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, Jal Mahal etc. To book tickets, one can visit starscapes.zone or call 9667307015.
