A number of destinations still require passengers to carry a report proving that they are&nbspCoronavirus&nbspnegative. If you are unsure of how to go about that, especially with different destinations specifying different stipulated time periods to take a test, IndiGo and SpiceJet have made the experience easier for you. Both airlines now offer domestic and international passengers the option to book an RT-PCR home test to check for a coronavirus infection, at an additional cost.

SpiceJet has tied up with VFS Global for passengers to book an appointment for a test before their flight.

To book the test, customers can visit the airline&rsquos&nbspwebsite&nbspand avail the service under the &ldquoAdd-ons&rdquo section. They can either request for a doorstep service or opt to visit a nearby lab.

While the airline&rsquos service is currently available for all customers in India (Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Pune) and the UAE (Ajman, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, or Sharjah), SpiceJet plans to roll it out for other countries as well soon.

IndiGo has partnered with Stemz Healthcare to facilitate this service, which aims to provide both international and domestic passengers with a hassle-free travel experience and also help them avoid quarantine in some countries (depending on local laws). Besides India, IndiGo&rsquos RT-PCR testing service, will be available at some airports abroad as well, including the Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Oman and Qatar.

Meanwhile the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) recently announced that the domestic and international passengers who are taking their flight from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) can get their COVID-19 test done on demand right before their departure. The passengers can pay Rs 2,400 and arrive at the airport around six hours before to get the COVID test and get the result in four to six hours.
