Better rail experiences are store for passengers after Finance Minister allots funds for LHB coaches

After a bumpy year in 2020, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduced a record sum of Rs 1.10 lakh crore for the Indian Railways.

Inspired by western train circuits and design, a part of rail budget 2021 has been dedicated to introducing aesthetically-designed railway coaches.

With an aim to make the train experiences comforting, funds will be provided for the manufacturing of more Vistadome Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) railway coaches in India. That means neither the comfort nor the window view will have to be compromised.

The LHB coaches are recognised for their improved suspension system and large glass design that allows passengers to sit back, relax and enjoy the passing views.

In addition to LHB coaches, railways will be introduced to an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection System. It is deemed to be beneficial for trains operating in high density and frequently-used rail routes. The automatic protection system will also help in minimising possible train collisions and human errors on the go.

The government is looking forward to work upon the National Rail Plan (NRP) 2030, which is expected to make the Indian railways future-ready.

The main goals of India's NRP 2030 are to build potential rail infrastructure, reduce the logistic costs for industry and help the largest rail network move forward.
