Tourism Ministry Launches Dekho Apna Desh Webinar Series

Dekho Apna Desh will allow virtual exploration of several Indian destinations

The COVID-19 lockdown has hugely impacted India's tourism industry, with all players trying to figure out ways to stay relevant and keep travellers engaged. The Ministry of Tourism in India recently launched its &ldquoDekho Apna Desh&rdquo webinar to offer tourism virtually. It is intended to provide an in-depth knowledge on several destinations in India alongwith information about the heritage of India. 

The first webinar, 'City of Cities &ndash Delhi&rsquos Personal Diary', took place on April 14, and touched upon the history of Delhi. The session was filled with interesting facts and anecdotes about the city, and based itself on tourism awareness and social history. The webinar was conducted by  India City Walks and saw 5,546 people registering and attending.

The second webinar unfolded facts and information on the city of Kolkata.

The Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel said that the series of webinars shall be an ongoing feature and the ministry will work towards showcasing the diverse and remarkable history and culture of India including its monuments, cuisine, arts, dance forms, natural landscapes, festivals and many other aspects.
