Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is the first one in India to start paperless e-boarding. This is the first step towards e-boarding facility for international flights. The airport already provides this facility for end-to-end paperless e-boarding to their domestic passengers. This service will give a safer option for international passengers.
Only a few International flights of Indigo Airlines have this service right now, but it will soon be available on more International flights soon.
Passengers opting for this service will have to follow a few simple steps. They must book their tickets online and do an online check-in. At the airport, they have to show their boarding card which can be both printed and digital. They will be allowed to get going once their documents are validated. The passengers must complete their passport verification at the immigration counter which is overseen by officials of the Bureau of Immigration.
The flyers must scan the boarding card on an e-boarding scanner at the boarding gate.
