Himachal Pradesh has made e-registration mandatory for entry. According to a state government notification issued by the state health secretary under the HP Epidemic Disease (COVID-19) Regulations, 2020, people entering the state will first have to register themselves online, and details of their arrival will be shared with all concerned for quarantine and contact tracing.
The order is applicable from April 27 midnight to May 10.
Every person coming to the state would have to register on
covidepass.hp.gov.in. After registration, a QR code would be generated that would be scanned at borders.
People coming from Covid hotspots will have to produce an RT-PCR test negative report to enter the state.
Visitors to the state also have an option to generate a monthly pass on the e-portal.
Himachal residents will also have to register every time they enter or leave the state.
In a directive that may come as a relief to those in tourism, the government has raised the mandatory COVID-19 negative report for tourists to 96 hours from 72 hours. Children below 10 years have been exempted from this.
The mandatory five-day hotel booking for tourists too has been reduced to two days.
Also, if a guest tests positive in a hotel, it will not be sealed. Only the space the guest was in will be sealed
