Goa is always in a mood to celebrate this time, it will be all about rejoicing diversity with inclusivity. India&rsquos party capital is set to host a first-of-its-kind inclusive festive for people with disabilities. The Purple Fest, which the state&rsquos Commission has conceived for Persons with Disabilities, will be held from January 6 to 8 in Panjim.
With this festival, the state government seeks to sensitise more people about how they can encourage disabled-friendly spaces and experiences. Many beaches and sights across the paradisiacal state would be accessible for persons with disabilities.
The main objective of this festival remains to nurture an ethos where people come together &ldquoto create a welcoming and inclusive world for everyone,&rdquo as the website reads. The events planned include an exciting mix of educational and fun.
Attendees can expect live performances, exhibitions, educational workshops, sporting events, and many other immersive experiences. The fest will also house interesting experience zones where people can learn more about the diverse experiences of PwDs.
In addition, there will also be guided tours across historical monuments for PwDs. Such initiatives indicate a promising future where more disabled-friendly infrastructure will be installed to increase accessibility.
For Goan delegates and students with disabilities, the fest has free entry. Other delegates would be required to pay a registration fee of INR 1,000. For those interested in exhibiting their creations, the registration fee is INR 2,500.
