Goa recently recorded 26 COVID-19 deaths which is its highest number of mortalities recorded in one day.
Observing the same, the Goa government decided to impose a night curfew from 10pm to 6am till April 30. Besides the night curfew, a number of restrictions were announced by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the coastal state.
The curfew will be imposed from April 21 to April 30 and movement of citizens will not be allowed from 10pm to 6am. Vehicles and carriers transporting essential goods, dairy products, and groceries will be permitted transit in and out of Goa during the curfew hours. Medical services for emergency cases will be available. Section 144 has been enforced in the state.
The number of people has been limited to 50 at weddings and 20 at funerals.
The government has urged people to stay at home and not step out unless required.
These will remain closed till April 30
Political, social, sports, and entertainment gatherings will not be allowed.
Sports clubs of Goa have been asked to cancel their tournaments scheduled in this timeline and shut down the gyms and swimming pools.
All government and private education institutions will continue to remain closed except the offline examinations of college students.
The state education board examinations for Class XII and Class X to be held on starting April 24 have also been postponed. Revised dates will be announced at least 15 days prior to the date of the examinations.
The guidelines will be reviewed on April 30.
