Which is your favourite hotel and why

I have stayed in many hotels, but Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc (from approx. &curren600 a night oetkercollection.com) in Antibes on the French Riviera is, by far, the most fabulous. It is located away from the bustle of Cannes and spells true luxury.

What are the best things about Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc

The location, the space and the whole vibe. The hotel occupies a pristine coastal spot and provides uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean, the L&eacuterins Islands and the Est&eacuterel coastline. It is nestled amid pine groves and tropical gardens. The 118 luxurious and elegant rooms and suites are all different, although they share the same warm and cosy atmosphere. Maja Oetker, in charge of the d&eacutecor, has made certain that each one is personalised. Within the complex there are six tennis courts, a spa, a fitness centre and othercharms such as a shopping area. But it is the nine acres of lush greenery that is most inviting. The swimming pool is a heated saltwater one, cut into the edge of the cliff. The rock facing the sea has 33 cabanas. There is so much to admire and love. This property is heaven on earth

Beside the location and the d&eacutecor, I also give the hotel full marks for the service and guest orientation. Service is extremely important to me. Give me bad service and I am out of the place. The staff at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc are its greatest asset. They are so warm and charming, forever smiling, and there is nothing they cannot do.

What about the food

The place has two restaurants to pamper everyone&rsquos taste buds. For those who like to spend the entire day at the pool, the Grill & Lounge, under the direction of the talented duo of Hervé Buisson and Nicolas Marcon, offers the best tapas, sushi and grilled dishes. The Eden Roc restaurant, under the command of Arnaud Po&eumltte for the past 30 years, offers signature dishes. I am totally obsessed with the Eden Roc roast sea perch with basil and the steak diane flambé. But it is not like you can&rsquot order something more regular (laughs). I am equally partial to the cheeseburgers and the gazpacho. Whenever I am in Cannes, this is my hideout and home away from home.
