Check out Amyra Dastur's favourite hotel

Bollywood's newbie, Amyra Dastur, gets nostalgic talking about the Explorers Hotel in Paris, her favourite hotel since she was a kid

Kavita Devgan

OT Which is your favourite hotel in the world
Amyra Dastur
Definitely, the Explorers Hotel in Paris (about &euro130 www.explorershotels.com/en), which was right opposite Euro Disney, the theme park. I stayed there with my parents and brother when I was about 12 years old. I had an absolute blast. My brother and I have always been fond of roller coasters and any thrills, really.

OT How long did you stay
Amyra Dastur
We stayed there for about a week, so that we could explore every inch of the park. My brother and I managed to go on every single ride

OT What did you like about the hotel
Amyra Dastur
It was very kid friendly. They had all these fun activities for us like treasure hunts and plays. You would always see Mickey Mouse or Cinderella roaming around and playing with everyone. Also, our beds were always covered in candy

OT What was the food like Do you remember the spread
Amyra Dastur
Paris is known for its food, of course. And the food at the Explorers Hotel was exquisite too. My mother is a huge foodie, and keeping her happy foodwise is a task in itself. But she was delighted with each meal. I ate chocolate croissants, ratatouille and an amazing cheesy lasagne. When it comes to food, you just can&rsquot beat the French.

OT Any other enduring memories, anecdotes from that trip, which you still recall as a family
Amyra Dastur
Well, my mother managed to lose both my brother and me. We decided to run off, and we hadn&rsquot seen her in two hours. Eventually, she went to the security booth and asked for help. I remember being escorted by the park&rsquos security guards, marched right up to her. She was fuming.

OT Do you intend to visit again
Amyra Dastur
I would love to go there again once I have children of my own&mdashmaybe, in a decade or so. Certainly not anytime soon.
