Explore North Eastern India on Special Tourist Train from IRCTC

Enjoy a leisurely trip through scenic north eastern India on a 15 day package tour from Delhi

For those who would love to explore the scenic and culturally rich north eastern states of India on a leisurely trip will find the latest offer from Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) exciting.

The IRCTC has said that it will be running a special luxury train &ndash Dekho Apna Desh Tourist Train &ndash which will cover five of the north eastern states on a 15-day tour.

Called the &lsquoNorth East Discovery Beyond Guwahati&rsquo, it will cover select destinations in Assam (Guwahati, Kaziranga National Park, Jorhat), Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar), Nagaland (Kohima), Tripura (Agartala, Udaipur and Unakoti) and Meghalaya (Shillong and Cherrapunji).

Special attractions include forest safari in Kaziranga, a cruise on the Brahmaputra River, visit to Assam&rsquos famous tea gardens, a trek along the Root Bridge in Meghalaya, etc.

Apart from enjoying luxurious services on the train, including sumptuous meals, guests will be taken on comfortable air conditioned buses for the road trips, accommodated in deluxe hotels, services of guides, etc.

&nbspThe train will leave from Safdarjung Railway Station in Delhi on November 26, 2021. Passengers can also join en route from Ghaziabad, Tundla, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi and Patna railway stations, reports said. The tour price starts from Rs 84,495 per head for travelling second AC and from Rs 1,02,430 per head for first AC.

The packages (inclusive of accommodation, meals and transfers), according to the railway body, consists of &lsquowell-planned itineraries [that] will take you to all your dream destinations without any hassle&rsquo. The regular itineraries can also be customised according to the traveller&rsquos preference, said IRCTC.

Choose from a variety of packages, such as a premium package called New Year Bonanza in Gangtok (starting from Kolkata on December 29, 2021), Mesmerizing Meghalaya and Assam (starting from Hyderabad on November 16), Splendours of North East (starting from Bengaluru on February 8, 2022), etc.
