All you Disneyland fans, here&rsquos not just one but two reasons to rejoice. The grand theme park turned 65 on Friday, July 17. And some of its chapters are reopening gradually after months of being in lockdown. And we can&rsquot keep calm.
Disneyland celebrated its 65th birthday virtually this year. At the opening of the famous theme park, Walt Disney had said, &ldquoTo all who come to this happy place, welcome.&rdquo The virtual celebrations included watching previous years celebrations on a YouTube livestream.
Visitors to Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim and Disneyland Paris can look forward to the opening of the Marvel Comics-inspired Avengers Campus &ndash although an exact date remains unclear.
The Anaheim theme parks will reopen following strict COVID-19 protocols and safety measures. This means a lot of changes will be made to the major attractions and to the overall Disney experience.
These places will follow the lead of the recently reopened Florida Disney parks.
At Disney World, visitors have to follow social distancing markers on the ground. In some places, plexiglass dividers have been installed in queues to maintain social distancing. This will result in really long lines for attractions. And 4,000 hand sanitising stations have been placed throughout the theme park. Parades, nighttime spectaculars, and shows are no longer running.
Star attractions like the Star Wars Galaxy Edge have a number of protocols in place that may affect the whole experience. For instance, riders can no longer stop and gather to watch the Hondo Ohnaka audio-animatronic pre-show for the Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run attraction. For Tomorrowland, every alternate row is left empty in the star tour motion simulator.
Visitors are being encouraged to check the Disneyland website and look out for the signs that advertise these changes at the parks.
