Shattering hopes of their fans, Walt Disney World on Friday announced that their still shuttered water parks won&rsquot reopen until next March.

While Disney World had opened for public few months ago, its water parks have remained closed.

&ldquoThe water parks remain closed pending government approvals. We currently plan to reopen one of the two Disney water parks on March 7, 2021. Like the other areas of Walt Disney World Resort, we will welcome back guests and cast members to our water parks in a responsible way, with a plan focused on health and well-being,&rdquo the company&rsquos official site said.

While the reopening date is subject to change depending on the pandemic situation, Disney says it will announce which water park of the two &ndash Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon &ndash will open first so that fans can plan accordingly.

The park has also announced that any unused, unexpired water park ticket&rsquos validity will be automatically extended till Dec. 31, 2021. Visitors whose plans to visit a Disney water park affected will be able to modify or cancel the tickets by calling the Disney Reservation Centre. Meanwhile, annual passholders who has water park access will be receiving a partial refund.

Disney World had announced a list of new safety protocols when it reopened to the public in July. Major changes including in the reservation system and mandatory temperature were made, while events like parades that attract major crowds were cancelled.
