DGTL Festival Arrives in India

After dynamic shows at Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Santiago, So Paulo, Barcelona and Madrid, DGTL halts at desi shores

Ever wanted to sport light-up sneakers or a streak (or ten) of tinsel in your hair Well, here&rsquos the tipping point that&rsquoll help an outfit like that fit right in. Global music extravaganza DGTL is coming to Bengaluru for its maiden showcase in the Indian subcontinent. Gear up for a weekend of eclectic electronica at The Lalit Ashok in Bengaluru on January 11 and 12, 2020, as the luxury hotel becomes the gateway to an experimental soundscape.

DGTL Bengaluru recently revealed the first wave of their line-up, which features leading and emerging artists from across the world. There&rsquos the German DJ/ producer Sven V&aumlth, Israeli indie-electronic duo Red Axes, as well as Austrian electronic duo HVOB [Live] [Clubset]. Other formidable names include the Norwegian producer Skateb&aringrd,the Berlin-based Binh who&rsquos made a mark in European house and techno, and DJ/ Producer Molly. The details of further stellar acts are expected to roll out soon.

Running strong in its seventh year, the DGTL festival will &ldquofocus on India&rsquos creative communities and subcultures&rdquo, its foray &ldquoa testament to the power of its evolving underground movement.&rdquo Attendees will be able to explore music and imagery through stages with raw and industrial settings, mesmerising installations, and free-flowing indoor-outdoor experiences. Sustainability is a keyword at the festival, and the Bengaluru edition plans to keep an eye out for state-of-the-art innovations to seal material loops, remove carbon-dioxide emissions and boost environmental awareness. If all goes well, DGTL may achieve its public goal of becoming the first circular, climate neutral event by 2020.
