Delhi Leg Of Paryatan Parv Concludes Successfully

Inaugurated on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the 2019 Paryatan Parv showcased the country's cultural diversity

The 2019 Paryatan Parv that started on October 2, 2019, on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, successfully witnessed the culmination of the Delhi leg on October 6. With dance and music performances by artistes from different states, the five-day event showcased the cultural diversity of the country. The aim of this year's edition was to spread the message of 'Dekho Apna Desh' and 'Tourism for All'. 

A footfall of nearly 2.5 lakh visitors was recorded during the course of the event. There were 31 stalls set up by the central government as well as different states and Union Territories. In addition to 58 food stalls showcasing the various cuisines, there were 18 &lsquosatvik&rsquo food stalls as well. A live kitchen was also set up to demonstrate traditional recipes. One of the key attractions was a multimedia exhibition organised by the Bureau of Outreach Communication of the I&ampB ministry. 

The Paryatan Parv 2019 witnessed a meeting of the NTAC (National Tourism Advisory Council) under the chairmanship of Minister of Tourism, Prahlad Patel on October 4. 

Patel stated that their objective was to bring forth the magnificent diversity of the country and encourage people to explore the lesser-known tourist destinations. He further suggested that it will not only boost the local economy but also provide employment to the youth. 

The nationwide event is expected to continue till October 13.
