Cuba has reopened the most important tourist beaches to international visitors in Varadero. This is a bid to boost tourism, an important economic sector, after a six-month shutdown. Cuba's peak tourist season is from November to March.

As of now, 13 out of 16 provinces are being permitted to reopen, and regular and charter flights are allowed at all of Cuba&rsquos international airports. Unfortunately, Havana continues to remain closed until the end of October.

While travelling seems to be making a comeback, strict physical distancing measures remain in place. Officials say that international visitors will be tested for the virus, and hotels will have medical staff.

Authorities say foreign visitors will be tested for the coronavirus and that hotels will have medical staff.
