Celebrate The Life And Works of Mystic Poet Kabir At This Festival

The third edition of Mahindra Kabira Festival, to be held between 16 -18th November, in Varanasi, will celebrate the spirit of 15th-century mystic poet Kabir. The festival will bring an invigorating music performances taking place at the Guleria Ghat and Shivala Ghat. Leading artists of the Benares gharana and folk traditions such as dadra, thumri, khayal gayaki styles, Sufiyana and ghazals, and pakhawajandtabla are all expected to be a part of the programme. It will also feature sessions on art and literature inspired by Kabir, local cuisine and curated walks with local residents as guides to discover the fascinating city of Varanasi.

Hindustani classical singer Vidya Rao, writer and mythologist Devdutt Pattnaik and renowned Bhakti scholar Purushottam Agrawal, Sonam Kalra of the Sufi Gospel Project fame, vani and bhajan singer Omprakash Nayak and many others from an eclectic line-up of artistes are expected to take the stage at this grand event.

The rich two-day programme of music, literature, talks and city explorations, Mahindra Kabira Festival salutes the glorious simplicity of Kabir&rsquos philosophy and poetry annually on the ghats of Varanasi.

Attendance for certain events like Morning and Evening Music across the two days are free and open to all. Several one and two-day packages are on offer giving an immersive experience of the festival
