Found A Quaint Cafe Note Down On Bimble

OT Staff

The pandemic may have forced them to stop on their tracks but it could not take &lsquotravel&rsquo out of them. Stuck in London, globetrotters Francesca Howland and Julia Mallaby Rossler went ahead and co-founded an app that will help travellers note their favourite places while travelling, use it to recommend these places to others, or look up such places noted by others.

They named the smartphone app Bimble (an informal word meaning &lsquoto move at a leisurely place&rsquo).

It is an app where you can note down new places with your own comments &ndash a quaint corner café, an interesting bookstore in a side lane, a must-have local dish, a souvenir stall worth browsing &ndash and the place also gets automatically loaded on a map. You may build your own go-to list with navigation details and access it offline.  Or, even create a local guide for a city or a neighbourhood which can help others. You may also refer to places recommended by other people.

While you are away, you may update your Bimble account with your own photos and comments about your experience. Found a place that your friends would love too You can easily share it with them from Bimble or on your social media handles too. For the convenience of browsing, you may save the places under different Bimble lists, organising them by theme, mood, or location, etc.

Bimble, founded in June, is still in expansion mode and it will take some time before they have reached a significant number of places. But they have already caught the attention of investors such as Dimitris Panagopoulos, and they aim to have 300,000 users by this year, the media quoted the co-founders as saying.
