Travel from Bengaluru Airport to Railway Station for Just Rs10

OT Staff

Travelling from Bengaluru airport to the city is now easier and cost effective, with the introduction of a new railway service.

Indian Railways&rsquo South Western Railway Zone has started a train service connecting Kempegowda International Airport to Bengaluru city. These connecting trains will take a time span of 45 minutes to cover the distance between the airport and Bengaluru railway station. This will make transport easier and cheaper for a large portion of the airport workforce, who had to rely on other means of transport to cover the distance. The fare will be Rs 10 for passenger trains, while for express trains, it will Rs 30 per individual.

This fare will be significantly less than that charged by other modes of transport (air conditioned government-owned Vayuvajra buses and private cab services by Ola, Uber) between the Kempegowda airport and Bengaluru railway station.

While the bus service charges Rs 270 per passenger and the private cabs charge around Rs 700-1,200, the introduction of these trains has eased the distance, time and has cut cost significantly.

The newly built Devanahalli halt station will be connected to different parts of the airport, by the means of a shuttle bus service. The halt station will be equipped with benches, rest rooms, water facility and a concourse area.
